Jared Goff Is a Taylor Swift Fan, Lists His Favorite Swift Songs
We know Jared Goff has resurrected his NFL career while leading the Detroit Lions to the NFC championship game against the 49ers on Sunday.
But the important question is this: Did you know that the former Cal quarterback was a Taylor Swift fan?
Swift was at the other conference title game – the Kansas City Chiefs’ road game against the Baltimore Ravens – to cheer for boyfriend Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, but if the Chiefs and Lions both win this weekend, Swift might be in attendance for the February 11 Super Bowl in Las Vegas.
It might be a challenge for Swift to attend the Super Bowl since she will be performing in Tokyo, Japan, on February 10, the night before the big game.
But the mere thought that Swift might be at the Super Bowl could give Goff extra incentive to beat the 49ers.
Soon after completing his career at Cal in 2015, Goff was participating in the NFL combine just before the 2016 NFL draft, and he provided information about why he expected to be a quality NFL quarterback in an NFL video. But the important information came right at the end of the video when Goff admitted he was a big fan of Taylor Swift, singling out her 2014 song “Wildest Dreams.”
More recently, just seven months ago, Goff was one of several Detroit Lions players who revealed their favorite Taylor Swift songs in advance of Swift’s June 2023 concert in Detroit.
Goff is up first in the twitter video below, and he named three Swift songs: “Getaway Car” (2017), “The 1” (2020) and “All Too Well” (the 10-minute version 2012)

US magazine noted Goff and former Cal star Aaron Rodgers were just two of the many NFL players who are fans of Swift.
We recall the video of Rodgers dancing at a Taylor Swift concert in May.
And the Bay Area athletes' Taylor Swift fan club is not limited to football players. In 2010, Saint Mary's star center Omar Sanham owned up up to being a Swiftie before that term was popularized.
In advance of the Gaels' NCAA tournament Sweet 16 game against Baylor Samhan had this to say to reporters during a press conference after it was noted his twitter page was loaded with Taylor Swift references.
"Are those cameras on?" Samhan asked, according to SF Gate. "I love you, Taylor, you should call me."
"I'm a huge Taylor Swift fan. I listen to her before games. People think it's weird. But there is so much emotion and excitement before these games, it just kind of slows you down, and it keeps me mellow, because I'm just like a time bomb waiting to go off."
Taylor Swift was 20 years old at the time; Samhan was 22.
It's unlikely Taylor Swift's tender melodies will be playing in the Lions' locker room before Sunday's game against the 49ers. Maybe afterward.
