Another Texan Commits to Cal: Cornerback Kaden Cook

Cook is the Bears' third football commitment in the class of 2025

Cal football continues to reach into talent-rich Texas for players with its latest commitment from cornerback Kaden Cook for the class of 2025.

Cook attends Stony Point High School in Round Rock, Texas. Five of Cal’s 11 committed players in the Bears’ 2024 recruiting class are from Texas, and Cook is Cal’s third commitment in the class of 2025 and the first from the Lone Star state.

He made his announcement on social media on Thursday:

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound Cook did not get any rating from the Rivals or the 247 Sports recruiting websites, and he chose Cal over offers from Texas State and Arizona State. The Sun Devils are Cal’s opponent this Saturday, while current Cal offensive coordinator Jake Spavital was the head coach at Texas State last year, which no doubt led to Cal’s recruitment of Cook.

As has been the case since Justin Wilcox became head coach, the Bears are seeking quality defensive backs.

Cook joins two other players who have committed to Cal in the class of 2025 – running back JoJo Solis and running back Carter Jackson.
