Aiden Newbill, an offensive lineman from Austin, Texas, had committed to Northwestern, but he has changed his mind and on Tuesday evening he announced he has committed to Cal for the class of 2024.

The 6-foot-8, 280-pound Newbill, who attends Connally High School in Austin, is the 15th player to commit to Cal in the class of 2024, and eight of the 15 are from the state of Texas.

Plus Cal got a commitment from North Texas quarterback Chandler Rogers, who is transferring to Cal.

The early signing period for the class of 2024 recruits begins December 20, which is next Wednesday.

Newbill had visited Cal last week, and that convinced him to switch his commitment to the Golden Bears. SMU and UNLV were among the other schools to offer Newbill, who had committed to Northwestern back in early October. Now he is committed to Cal.
