Cal added its 11th recruit to the class of 2021 when outside linebacker Moses Oladejo of Elk Grove committed to the Bears on Sunday.

A 6-foot-2, 225-pounder, Oladejo is rated a three-star prospect by both 247Sports and Rivals. He plays at Cosumnes Oaks High School.

Olajedo announced his decision on social media, offering his thanks to all, including his friends, coaches and trainers. “And to my mama, you the real MVP!”

“I fell in love with the game from the moment I first stepped on the field at 9 years old,” he wrote. “With all this being said, I a extremely blessed and excited to say that I will be verbally committing to the University of California, Berkeley! #GoBears”

Moses Oladejo statement

Oladejo is the third player this month to commit to the Bears, joining wide receiver J. Michael Sturdivant of Flower Mound, Texas, and offensive tackle William Reed of Sammamish, Wash.

He is the first linebacker in the Bears’ class of 2021.

The recruiting website 247Sports rates Oladejo as the No. 48 outside linebacker prospect in the country and the No. 74 overall high school player in California.

Rivals does not provide any state or national rankings for Oladejo, who also is not included among the candidates for the SI All-American team.

***Video highlights of Oladejo from 2019:

Oladejo picked Cal over offers from more than a dozen other schools, including Arizona and Colorado of the Pac-12. Others who pursued him included Army, Colorado State, Kansas and San Diego State.

But as recently as May, Oladejo identified his top eight schools without mentioning Cal.

Cal’s recruiting class currently ranks 46th nationally and fifth in the Pac-12, according to 247Sports, and 47th nationally, No. 6 in the Pac-12, per Rivals.
