Pac-12 Bowl Projections: Washington in Line for CFP Berth
Washington's riveting 36-33 victory over Oregon on Saturday brought a few more bowl prognosticators onto the Huskies' side.
We cite 10 reputable sites who made bowl projections this week, and seven of them put Washington in a national semifinal game. ESPN's Kyle Bonagura, ESPN's Mark Schlabach, Action Network's Brett McMurphy, San Jose Mercury-News' Jon Wilner and College Football Network's Oliver Hodgkinson all put the Huskies in the Rose Bowl against Michigan, while 247 Sports' Brad Crawford and USA Today's Erick Smith predict a Sugar Bowl berth for Washington.
The Rose Bowl and the Sugar Bowl are the College Football Playoff national semifinal games this season.
Washington was the only Pac-12 school that received mention as a College Football Playoff team, although Oregon was projected to land in a New Years' Six bowl by all 10 experts.
For the first time this season, Cal was not projected to wind up in a bowl by any of our experts. The Golden Bears, Stanford and Arizona State were the only Pac-12 school that were not predicted to be in a postseason game by any of the eight experts.
