CINCINNATI — Wes Miller and the Bearcats are adding a new, important role to the program: General manager. Trilly Donovan of The Burner Ball Discord reported the addition of Oklahoma City Thunder amateur talent evaluation scout Corey Evans as the first GM in Cincinnati program history. ESPN's Pete Thamel confirmed the hire on Monday.

Evans has been a scout with the NBA franchise for the past 4.5 years after leaving the Rivals outlet and his basketball recruiting analyst role there. The mid-30s rising star should help Cincinnati better set up its 2025-26 roster for Big 12 play and bring more continuity to the transfer portal operations.

"I've known Corey Evans for over 13 years," Miller said in a press release. "He is a rising star with a relentless work ethic. He's unique in his base of knowledge as well as his diversity of relationships across all levels of basketball. As our college game continues to transition to a true professional model, I think there is value in adding another staff member with NBA experience as well as a non-coaching background. He will be a vital asset to myself, our staff and our players."

Evans started Roundball Rundown Report in 2012 as his own scouting service. He then moved to Rivals in 2017.

"I want to thank Sam Presti, Rob Hennigan and the rest of the Oklahoma City Thunder organization for the opportunity to work with the very best in professional sports," evans said in social media statemnt. "I appreciate their belief in me over the last five years. I am truly excited to join Wes Miller and the Cincinnati men's basketball program during these rapidly changing times in college basketball. I believe that I bring a skillset that can complement this first class program and coaching staff to build a consistent winner.

Cincinnati could have much more roster turnover this offseason than it did in 2024.
