Cincinnati Forward Viktor Lakhin Entering Transfer Portal
CINCINNATI — The Bearcats are losing a big man to other hoops opportunities as Viktor Lakhin announced plans to leave on Instagram. Lakhin was the team's leading scorer for most of the 2023-24 season but struggled with illness and injuries down the stretch.
"I'll always be a Bearcat!" Lakhin wrote. "I'm proud to be one! I'll give back to the University of Cincinnati! My time in America will always be associated with University of Cincinnati and the queen city!"
He played just seven minutes combined against Baylor and San Francisco before seeing no time against Bradley and Indiana State to wrap the 2023-24 campaign.
The fun, charismatic Russian finishes his Cincinnati career averaging 8.2 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. Lakhin was the final member of the roster not originally recruited by Wes Miller, starting with the program in 2020.
