Brendan Sorsby Named to Davey O'Brien Award Class of 2024

The next step in winning the award.

CINCINNATI — Brendan Sorsby is officially on the 2024 Davey O'Brien Award contender list. The announcement came down on Tuesday that Sorsby is a part of the 35-player class this season after making the award's watchlist last week.

The Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award is the sport's oldest and most prestigious national quarterback award. It's awarded during the Home Depot College Football Awards on ESPN.

He can now officially win the award and will look to make the 16-player semifinalist list later in the season. So far in his first UC campaign, Sorsby's completed 65.6% of his passes for 2,108 yards and 15 touchdowns to just 4 INTs. Those marks rank third in the Big 12 by passing yards, third in completion rate, and fourth in passing efficiency (149.1).

He owns the 16th-best ESPN QBR mark nationally at 79.3 overall.
