CINCINNATI — Cincinnati quarterback Brendan Sorsby is getting close to full comfortability with the Bearcats playbook as his quarterback competition with the rest of the room carries on.

Sorsby was at a 6-7 out of 10 in the spring with the playbook.

"Probably an eight or nine," Sorsby said about his comfort level. "Obviously, still some small things that I can get better at, but definitely feel really good about the playbook."

The Bearcats could use some more explosive plays in the passing game this season and Sorsby showed strong flashes their last season. Balance is on the menu at Camp Higher Ground.

"There's a fine line of being too aggressive," Sorsby said. "But you do have to have those shots down the field. I think it's tremendous for your run game. I think the run game that we have is going to help those shots down the field. You got to hook up whenever you can take them and you just got to make sure that you're giving your guys a chance and trust them to make plays."

Cincinnati has an even deeper offensive line anchoring the attack this season after boasting a historic rushing unit in 2023.
