CINCINNATI — UC added a transfer safety on Friday. New Mexico State freshman Tayden Barnes is rolling with Cincinnati out of the transfer portal.

Barnes holds three more seasons of eligibility after posting 57 tackles, two interceptions, and six pass breakups in 2024. It amounted to a 60.6 PFF grade on 840 snaps and a spot on the Conference USA All-Freshman team.

The 5-10, 185-pound playmaker is Cincinnati's first safety addition this cycle and makes up a strong room with Logan Wilson, Tre Gola-Callard, and Kye Stokes. He is the program's 10th transfer addition to the team since the season ended.
