Cincinnati Lands Transfer Commitment From Ball State OT Taran Tyo
CINCINNATI — Cincinnati secured its first commitment of this football transfer cycle in former Ball State offensive tackle Taran Tyo. The 6-4, 322-pound right tackle excelled with the Cardinals to start his career and holds two seasons of eligibility.
The third-team All-MAC selection played 758 snaps at mostly right tackle and some right guard to finish with a strong 78.1 PFF grade in 2024 (career-high). Tyo brings a wealth of experience (1,555 career snaps) and two years of eligibility to mark a seemingly strong start to the cycle for UC's recruiting staff.
He should be able to fill the right-guard void left by Luke Kandra. Tyo played almost all of 2023 at that spot for Ball State.
