Look: Cincinnati Bearcats Crack Top-35 Teams Nationally in The Athletic's Full FBS Ranking
CINCINNATI — From the basement to top-35.
Cincinnati football jumped all the way to No. 33 in this week's 1-134 FBS ranking from The Athletic's Chris Vannini. The Bearcats are 5-2 after a win over Arizona State. They entered the game ranked 54th nationally by The Athletic.
"Teams just outside the top 25 took all kind of losses this week," Vannini wrote. "As a result, Syracuse, UNLV, South Carolina, Memphis, Army, Duke, and Cincinnati make big jumps into the top 35."
It's been a stellar first half of the year for Cincinnati compared to preseason expectations of a 5.5-win betting total. All their goals are still possible, even a Big 12 Championship if they keep leveling up their game.
This weekend presents arguably the toughest conference test yet in a late-night road matchup in Colorado (No. 38 on this list).
