CINCINNATI — Jake Golday earned Big 12 Newcomer of the Week for Week 7 following Cincinnati's 19-13 win over UCF. The UC linebacker was all over the field with 5 tackles (1 for loss, 1 sack), a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.

It was his best game as a Bearcat in a string of performances that have gotten better and better. He had the second-highest PFF grade of any UC defender in the game (83.9 overall).
