CINCINNATI — The Battle for the Victory Bell reportedly may continue for years to come. Bearcat Journal's Chad Brendel and The Enquirer's Scott Springer reported Cincinnati and Miami (OH) are in talks to continue the football rivalry at a neutral site every 2-3 seasons.

The next matchup after this Saturday's game is slated for 2026 at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati.

The Victory Bell is the oldest current non-conference college football rivalry in the United States (though they briefly played in the same conference during the late 1940s and early 1950s), the oldest rivalry in the FBS, having first played in 1888 (UNC-Wake Forest and Carolina-Duke are tied), and it also is the fourth-most played college football rivalry game ever, with 127 meetings total.

The Bearcats are looking to break the tie this weekend in a matchup that could have life for years to come.
