Report: Former Cincinnati Bearcats Star Josh Whale Breaking Ground With New NFL Equipment
CINCINNATI — Tennessee Titans tight end and former UC star Josh Whyle has had problems with concussions recently prompting him to use the Guardian Cap on his helmet players can wear in games this season.
He discussed his reasoning behind the addition with ESPN's Turron Davenport after suffering a second consussion in the past year recently.
"I can't mess around anymore," Whyle said to Davenport. "I want to stay healthy and if this is what it takes, then I'm all for it."
The cap adds another protective layer on the helmet for Whyle's brain, while still having the typical Titans decal. It makes sense for every player to wear based on science, but they are optional.
