Report: UC Inside Linebackers Coach Derek Nicholson Accepting Linebackers Coach Position At Miami

It was a quick in, quick out experience for the assistant.

CINCINNATI — UC football just lost a coach before he even stepped onto the field for a game. 

On3's Matt Zenitz reported inside linebackers coach Derek Nicholson is leaving his post for the open linebackers coach position at Miami.

Nicholson had been the inside linebackers coach for Scott Satterfield over the last three seasons at Louisville following a four-year run as an assistant at Southern Mississippi.

He got hired by UC in early December.

Cincinnati now has one key defensive post to fill before spring practices ramp up in less than a month.
