CINCINNATI — Cincinnati is reportedly moving along the interview process for its open football coach position.

Football Scoop reports that Gino Guidugli and Kerry Coombs have already been interviewed as internal candidates, while Ohio State wide receivers coach Brian Hartline is slated for an interview as early as Thursday.

"While several additional candidates have emerged for the Bearcats’ head job, sources on Wednesday told FootballScoop that there has been a gain in momentum for star Ohio State assistant coach Brian Hartline," John Brice wrote. "Sources told FootballScoop that Cincinnati’s formal interview with Hartline was expected to take place in the near future, perhaps as soon as Thursday."

BuckeyeScoop reported similar findings as UC increases interest in the best wide receivers coach in the sport. Hartline has developed a long line of NFL receiving talent at Ohio State and Biletnikoff Award frontrunner Marvin Harrison is the latest example of his coaching prowess.

The report also mentioned Michigan defensive coordinator Jesse Minter, James Madison head coach Curt Cignetti and Tennessee offensive coordinator Alex Golesh as other candidates UC is interested in.

We highlighted Minter and Golesh in our top candidates' article, but Cignetti is a new wrinkle. He's been leading the Dukes since 2019 and would be playing for a Sun Belt title this weekend if the school wasn't serving the normal one-year postseason ban when jumping to the FBS.

There was no mention of Jackson State's Deion Sanders in the report.

UPDATE: Brian Hartline tweeted on Thursday that he is not leaving Ohio State.
