Former Cincinnati Bearcats Star Desmond Ridder Released By Arizona Cardinals
CINCINNATI — Former Bearcats great Desmond Ridder was released by the Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday according to Ian Rapoport.
Ridder, 24, is entering his third NFL season. He appeared in 19 games in his first two seasons after the Falcons picked him in the third round (74th overall) in the 2022 NFL Draft.
The Cardinals traded for Ridder this offseason. He was battling with Clayton Tune for the backup quarterback job behind Kyler Murray.
Ridder helped Cincinnati make the College Football Playoff in 2021 and had one of the best college careers in Bearcats history. Surely he'll get picked up by a team or join the Cardinals practice squad.
