Cincinnati Loses Commitment from Local Three-Star 2025 Linebacker Erik Gayle

The Bearcats class is hovering near the 50s nationally.

CINCINNATI — Cincinnati lost a local football commit this week as three-star Withrow (Ohio) edge rusher is rolling with Illinois for his college career.

According to 247Sports, Gayle is the 899th-ranked player nationally and the 69th-ranked linebacker. He committed to Cincinnati in the spring but changed his mind.

It's a decent hit to UC's class as they sit with 15 commits and a group hovering near the 50s nationally. Gayle was one of two Hometown Heroes, leaving linebacker Paul Nelson as the other local commit.
