Three-Star 2025 Tight End Meyer Swinney Discusses Cincinnati Bearcats Offer

2025 tight end prospect Meyer Swinney recaps his Cincinnati offer.
In this story:

TUNNEL HILL — Cincinnati football went on another offer spree before the dead period. One of the newest high school athletes in their sights is 2025 tight end Meyer Swinney.

The junior hails from Edina High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and is a three-star recruit on Rivals' rankings. Following his offer, the talented tight end spoke with AllBearcats to recap his conversation and more.

“This offer means a lot since Cincinnati is one of the premier football programs in the country and a premier tight end producer,” Swinney stated. “My conversation went great with Coach (Josh) Stepp; he loved my game, and I can’t wait to keep building our relationship. The pitch is that they are going to try to be the best football team possible and are going to push you to be the best player you can possibly be.”

Swinney dove into what makes the Bearcats unique as a whole.

“Cincinnati is unique in many ways," Swinney said. "It is one of the only places besides Minnesota where I have family, and Cincy is just a great spot in general and, more importantly, great football. I plan to get there as soon as possible after this dead period ends. I just have to work out the dates with mine and my parents' schedules.”

He believes he can truly compete at Cincinnati in Scott Satterfield's system.

“I feel I can contribute to the system however they want," Swinney said "I’m a baller and a straight gamer, and I know I can thrive wherever the coach puts me; my mentality is to embarrass the guy across from me, and see how bad he really wants to play.”

In his final statement, after being asked his height and weight, he stated, “I’m 6-foot-3, 208 (pounds) right now, trying to get it up to 220 before next season.”

Swinney is very talented, as he holds many offers from other schools like California, Miami, Texas A&M, and more.
