CLEMSON—The No.13 Clemson Tigers swept the season series with the Furman Paladins by a final score of 2-0 Wednesday night at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

The Tigers and Paladins were caught in the middle of a pitchers duel through the first five innings, as Tiger starting pitcher Jacob Hennessy and two Paladin pitchers combined to allow only four hits and five batters to reach base.

The Tigers broke the scoreless game in the bottom of the fifth inning. After back-to-back walks to Sam Hall and Logan Davidson, Kyle Wilkie singled to left center and plated Hall from third base.

The Tigers added a solo run in the bottom of the eighth inning, as Bo Majkowski singled through the left side of the infield and scored Grayson Byrd.

Tiger pitchers Jacob Hennessy, who earned the win, and Brooks Crawford combined to allow only two hits and faced only one batter over the minimum. Paladin pitcher Nik Verbeke took the loss.

With the victory, the Tigers recorded their first shutout of the season—and still have yet to be shut out in the 2019 season.
