247 predicts Florida State to win the ACC, Clemson second.

Is Florida State ready to take the top spot in the ACC away from Clemson?

If you've been paying attention, you know that the ACC will likely come down to Florida State and Clemson. Drake Maye gives North Carolina a puncher's chance, but, with the elimination of divisions, week 4's matchup between the Tigers and Seminoles is likely a preview of the ACC Championship Game.

Clemson is the defending champ, but Florida State, coming off of a 10-win season, is the media's darlings heading into the season. The 'Noles return a ton of talent including quarterback Jordan Travis and edge rusher Jared Verse.

247Sports dropped their predictions for the ACC in 2023 ahead of Media Days and they have a heavy Florida State presence. The site "gathered experts across its network and conducted polls" to determine their picks. The predicted result: Florida State wins the ACC in 2023.

It's not hard to see why they'd think that. We mentioned Travis and Verse above, but the Seminoles also return the most production in college football. Head coach Mike Norvell has done a remarkable job getting the program turned around from the mess he inherited after the Jimbo Fisher and Willie Taggert debacles.

With that said, Clemson is still the defending champs and they return a ton of talent as well, especially on the defensive side of the ball. If quarterback Cade Klubnik can gel with new offensive coordinator Garrett Riley, the Tigers have all the makings of a playoff team.

Whichever school does lose that week 4 matchup could potentially get another shot in the ACC title game if they win out. We've got around 50 days until football returns and should have a fun race on our hands in the ACC.
