Clemson at N.C. State: Game Preview
With the daunting loss this past Saturday against Miami, there are a lot of ways Clemson's season could head from here.
One thing that they can not do is sulk in the loss with the matchup against N.C. State coming up. The Tigers have a 1-2 record so far this year on the road; the two losses being the season-opener against Duke and last week at Miami.
On a positive note, it's a day game, starting at 2:00 p.m. The Tigers are 2-1 in day games this year. No sitting around, waiting all day for the game to come. There will be a wake-up, breakfast, and head straight to the game.
Last game turnovers are what killed the Tiger's momentum against Miami. Three costly turnovers - with two fumbles coming from your dynamic duo in the backfield - were demoralizing. Also, the Tigers were under 30% on third-down conversions while the Hurricanes converted at a 50% clip
N.C. State has an underwhelming offense that is going through a quarterback change. M.J. Morris is now starting but he also has 4 interceptions so far in the season. The secondary needs to cause a turnover on Morris to create a moment for the team to secure a win against the Wolfpack. Their leading rusher, Brennan Armstrong with 281 yards, is now benched. Following him is sophomore running back Micheal Allen with 230 rushing yards in 7 games. Expect the defense to dominate on their side of the football before Clemson heads back home to face Notre Dame.
