Clemson Football: ACC Transfer Portal Updates
Michigan and Washington will meet in the College Football Playoff National Championship on Monday in Houston, but for the 131 other FBS teams the 2024 season is now underway.
In the ACC, big changes are on the horizon and bigger names are on the move. Last week, Florida State began the process of entering the Transfer Portal as a program. They've also been busy in the portal, plucking out some talented players to reload their roster. Former Clemson quarterback DJ Uiagalelei has committed to the Seminoles as has former Georgia linebacker Marvin Jones Jr.
But it's been a couple of other ACC schools that have done the most damage so far in the portal; Syracuse and N.C. State.
Syracuse replaced longtime head coach Dino Babers, bringing in former Georgia cornerback coach Fran Brown to lead the program. Brown wasted no time recruiting, adding Ohio State starting quarterback Kyle McCord, Texas A&M edge rusher Fadil Diggs, and Georgia receiver Jackson Meeks.
N.C. State, fresh off of a 9-4 season (6-2 ACC), has been busy as well. The Wolfpack nabbed running back Jordan Waters from conference rival Duke. They also added Justin Joly, the No. 2 TE prospect in the portal, out of UConn. And perhaps their biggest addition came from the Carolinas, where they were able to land All-Sun Belt quarterback Grayson McCall out of Coastal Carolina.
Other notable additions
- Maalik Murphy (QB - Texas) - Duke
- Jake Johnson (TE - Texas A&M) - North Carolina
- Marcus Harris (CB - Idaho) - Cal
- Ja'Corey Brooks (WR - Alabama) - Louisville
