Clemson Football: Klubnik, Davis, and Putnam to represent Tigers at ACC Media Days
The ACC Kickoff in Charlotte will begin on Tuesday, July 25th with Georgia Tech, Miami, Syracuse, and Louisville beginning the week. Clemson fans will have to wait until Thursday to see their defending conference champs take the stage.
Head coach Dabo Swinney will of course be in attendance and address the media. This year, Swinney will bring along quarterback Cade Klubnik, center Will Putnam, and defensive lineman Tyler Davis.
Among the biggest questions Swinney will face is the arrival of offensive coordinator Garrett Riley from TCU. Clemson has struggled to find an identity on offense since Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne departed to the NFL. With four starters returning across the offensive line and two stellar junior backs in Will Shipley and Phil Mafah, the pressure will be on for this Clemson offense to perform.
Klubnik is entering his first season as Clemson's starting quarterback. The sophomore out of Texas had mixed results during his limited action in 2022. Klubnik was a star coming off the bench to help Clemson win the ACC Championship over North Carolina but struggled mightily in the Orange Bowl against Tennessee.
Davis and Putnam are stalwarts on their respective lines. With talented young players on both fronts, they'll be relied upon heavily to provide leadership.
