Sammy Brown will visit Clemson during the first weekend in June. The 5-star linebacker out of Georgia is a priority recruit for the Tigers.

If Sammy Brown isn't at the top of the recruiting board for Coach Dabo Swinney and his staff, there certainly aren't many names above him. Brown, out of Jefferson, Georgia is one of the most athletic defenders in the country and is currently ranked as the 5th overall player in the nation.

Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports said in an interview that "[Brown] is dead set on taking all 5 of his official visits before making a summer decision, but Clemson and Georgia look like the programs that might be an inch or two ahead." Wiltfong did go on to acknowledge that if he had to give the edge to someone then it would probably be Georgia "by a hair" at this point. However, that's why getting this first visit could be so crucial.

Official visits are arguably the biggest swing you can take in the recruiting world and for the Tigers to have the chance to set the tone before UGA or any other school gets a shot could prove big once it comes time for a final choice. It should be noted that there's a chance Tennessee could get a visit sometime next month but even if that's the case it doesn't look likely to have a huge impact on the overall recruitment at this time. Brown has visits scheduled with Clemson, Georgia, Ohio State, and Oklahoma this June.

Brown actually visited Clemson just over a week ago and gave some tidbits to The Clemson Insider. “I thought everything about (Saturday) really just reinforced what I knew about Clemson,” Brown said after his visit. “Just a really great experience and had a great time catching up with coaches and other recruits.”

How does he feel about the school right now? “I really like Clemson, they’re top to bottom one of the best in college football. They’re a great fit for me whether it be on or off the field. I really like what they have done and where they’re going." Sounds like a strong starting point to set the stage for June.
