Four Clemson Tigers make ESPN's Top 100 college football players list

Multiple Clemson stars on ESPN's Top 100 list.

We're just a couple of short weeks away from college football's return. There are a ton of outstanding storylines this year and Clemson's fight to return to the College Football Playoff is certainly up there among the best.

According to most polls, the Tigers are in a neck-and-neck race with Florida State to take the ACC title. The main reason for that is Clemson's returning talent. The Tigers placed four players on ESPN's top 100 players for 2023 list.

  • 21. Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
  • 26. Will Shipley
  • 34. Barrett Carter
  • 66. Tyler Davis

Carter, Trotter Jr., and Davis represent the backbone of Clemson's defense. The combination of Trotter and Carter represents perhaps the best linebacker duo in the country, while Davis already has three All-ACC selections to his name. They'll be leading a defensive unit that has the chance to be elite in 2023.

Meanwhile, Will Shipley is entering the defining year of his career. As new offensive coordinator Garrett Riley's offense is installed, Shipley will be leaned upon to lighten the load on quarterback Cade Klubnik.
