Halftime Report: No. 25 Clemson locked in a battle with Charleston Southern
Well, at least Clemson switched it up a little. Instead of waiting until they got deep into opponents' territory to turn the ball over, the Tigers elected to just go ahead and give the ball up on their side of the field.
Cade Klubnik fumbled a snap that was recovered and returned to Clemson's 2 and threw a pick 6 for good measure. In a game that was supposed to be a therapeutic beat down of a FCS opponent, Clemson was showered with boos in their home opener. At one point in the first half, the Buccaneers were tied with Clemson 14-14 without picking up a single first down.
The offense was able to move the ball at will for Clemson, but catastrophic mistakes and silly decisions doomed a couple of drives. Klubnik feels like he locks in on receivers before the snap and he hasn't gotten comfortable at the mesh point of reads. Defensively, Clemson was dominant once again, only allowing one drive that put points on the board, a 45-yard field goal.
