We're just over 100 days away from Clemson kicking off their season at Duke. With big-time recruiting visits coming up in June and media days in July, the football season will be here in a flash.

As we get closer and closer to the season, prognosticators from around the country will begin giving their picks for the season and which players will star in 2023. Athlon Sports' Steve Lassan just dropped his Preseason All-America team, filling out four different teams with the best players in college football. Just one Clemson Tiger made the First Team, linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr.

Trotter Jr. really came on in his sophomore campaign after only playing 5 games in his freshman season where he recorded just 15 tackles, 9 of which were solo, and added 1 sack on the year. The next year's stats look very different. The star sophomore played in all 14 games and upped his tackle total to 89 with 50 being solo along with his 13.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, 2 interceptions, and 1 forced fumble.

Clemson Players on Athlon's Preseason All-America Teams:

  • Jeremiah Trotter Jr. - LB - First Team
  • Will Shipley - RB - Second Team
  • Tyler Davis - DL - Third Team
  • Barrett Carter - LB - Third Team
  • Andrew Mukuba - S - Fourth Team
