Latest Clemson Bowl projections are in.
A few weeks ago, just the guarantee of a bowl game seemed like a longshot for the Clemson Tigers, but after three straight conference wins they've quickly moved their way up the projected landing spots.
At 7-4, a New Year's Bowl probably isn't in the cards, but the Tigers could get closer with a win over rival South Carolina on Saturday (7:30 p.m. ET, SECN). As things stand, the Tigers will likely be playing in late December, just after Christmas, but where?
ESPN released their latest bowl projections. Mark Schlabach has the Tigers playing in the DirecTV Holiday Bowl against No. 15 Oregon State on December 27th (Petco Park, San Diego 8 p.m., Fox). Kyle Bonagura has them playing in the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl against Rutgers on the 28th (Yankee Stadium, New York 2:15 p.m., ESPN).
There's still an outside shot they're offered a spot in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, which would certainly be a shorter drive for Clemson fans, but that slot will likely go to the winner of NC State-North Carolina this weekend.
