Earlier this week, Clemson fell out of the AP Top 25 for the first time since 2021. The Tigers (1-1, 0-1 ACC) will look to climb back into the rankings as they face FAU out of the AAC. With kickoff set for 8 p.m., Clemson is attempting to win its 19th consecutive night game in Death Valley.

Pregame: Clemson will be with offensive guard Walker Parks and safety Andrew Mukuba. Mitchell Mayes will replace Parks.

First Quarter

  • Clemson wins the toss and defers.
  • After picking up a first down on the first play, Clemson corner Nate Wiggins intercepts a Casey Thompson pass and takes it back for a pick-six. Clemson 7 - FAU 0
  • That was Wiggins' second career interception and his first touchdown.
  • TJ Parker and Peter Woods combine for a big tackle for loss, but fellow freshman Khalil Barnes gets burned on a post route. Fortunately, the pass was overthrown. FAU is forced to punt.
  • Cade Klubnik hits Antonio Williams on an RPO for a first down.
  • Klubnik drills one to Cole Turner on 3rd down for another first down, then uses his legs to move the ball inside the FAU 35.
  • Cade Klubnik hits Tyler Brown for a 30-yard touchdown. Clemson 13 - FAU 0
  • Drive Summary: Cade Klubnik - 5-5, 59 yards, 1 touchdown
  • Clemson forces a three-and-out but FAU attempts a fake punt and comes up just short.
  • After missing an XP earlier, Robert Gunn III misses a 31-yard field goal.
  • Freshman Khalil Barnes intercepts a Casey Thompson pass.
  • Cade Klubnik finds tight end Jake Briningstool in the endzone a couple of plays later. XP is good. Clemson 20 - FAU 0

Second Quarter

  • After forcing another punt, Will Shipley takes a carry all the way into FAU territory.
  • Klubnik finds Adam Randall running wide open on third and 13 for a conversion. Phil Mafah takes it in from 19 yards out on the next play. Clemson 27 - FAU 0
  • Khalil Barnes strips the ball away from an FAU ball carrier and takes it back inside the 5 but the play is under review.
  • After review, the ball went out of bounds prior to being recovered. FAU ball.
  • Casey Thompson finds a receiver wide open and FAU moves into Clemson territory. 
  • Clemson defensive end Cade Denhoff is flagged for roughing the passer, moving the ball inside of Clemson's 20. Casey Thompson injured on the play.
  • TJ Parker comes clean up the middle for a sack on second down. Clemson gets a stop on the next play bringing up 4th and 19.
  • FAU misses a 47-yard field goal.
  • Two Cade Klubnik passes have Clemson inside the FAU 40.
  • After a pass interference call, Klubnik carries the ball for another first down inside of the five.
  • A QB sneak gives Cade Klubnik his first rushing touchdown of the year. Clemson 34 - FAU 0

Third Quarter

  • Clemson goes three-and-out on their opening possession of the second half.
  • The Tigers return the favor, forcing yet another three-and-out.
  • Cade Klubnik is nearly intercepted, Clemson goes three-and-out again.
  • After forcing another three-and-out, Tyler Brown fumbles the punt and FAU recovers at the 40.
  • Wade Woodaz intercepts a pass for the second week in a row, this time returning it inside the FAU 20.
  • The Tigers are unable to pick up a first down, coming up short on 4th and 1.
  • After a pass interference penalty, the Tigers force a punt. Tyler Brown returns it 37 yards deep into FAU territory.
  • Following the return, Tyler Brown hauls in two passes, including his second touchdown of the night. Clemson 41 - FAU 0
  • Two big plays move FAU into Clemson territory. A lot of backups in for Clemson.

Fourth Quarter

  • Three minutes into the quarter, Michael Johnson Jr. punches it into the endzone from a yard out, giving FAU their first points of the game. Clemson 41 - FAU 7
  • Hunter Helms in at quarterback. An unnecessary roughness penalty puts Clemson near midfield. 
  • Domonique Thomas busts a big run deep into Owls' territory.
  • Thomas punches the ball in a couple of plays later. Clemson 48 - FAU 7
  • FAU busts a big run down to Clemson's 20.
  • Clemson forces a fumble. Taking over with 3:45 to go.
  • Paul Tyson enters the game at quarterback.
  • Clemson goes three-and-out. The punt goes out of bounds at Clemson's 45.
  • FAU scores on a wide receiver pass. Clemson 48 - FAU 14
