Nate Wiggins Declares for NFL Draft
Transfer Portal and NFL news are flowing fast these days in college football, seemingly putting Conference Championship weekend on the back burner. Clemson is going through its own program shakeup as both staff and roster could look very different before spring ball starts next year.
Arguably the top cornerback prospect in college football, Nate Wiggins has made his declaration for the NFL Draft via his Instagram page.
The junior came to Clemson by way of Atlanta and found a real role for himself during his sophomore campaign. He finished that year with 30 total tackles, 1 interception (returned for a 98-yard touchdown off Drake Maye), and an impressive 11 pass deflections.
That season gained him a real following amongst scouts and NFL personnel and while the team may not have performed at the level it expected, Wiggins' junior year was still a success finishing with 28 total tackles, 2 forced fumbles, a sack, 2 interceptions (1 returned for a touchdown again) and another 6 pass deflections while dealing with some injuries throughout.
NFL Mock Database has the, now former, Tiger going in the 1st round in 49.3% of of a significant number of mock drafts counted across the nation. His average place of selection is 11th overall (currently held by the Las Vegas Raiders) and they have Wiggins as the 16th-best overall prospect in football.
