The first Clemson Tiger is off the board in the 2023 NFL Draft as Myles Murphy has been selected by the Cincinnati Bengals with the 28th pick in the first round.

During a productive career at Clemson, Murphy tallied 17.5 sacks including 6 forced fumbles. He came to Clemson from Hillgrove high school in Marietta, Georgia as a top-5 recruit nationally. In 2022, he was named to the All-ACC team.

Murphy was unable to work out for a large portion of the offseason due to a hamstring injury. At a private workout at Clemson, Murphy was finally able to perform after missing the NFL Combine and Clemson's Pro Day back in March. Eventually, he was able to host a private workout at Clemson where he performed very well.

His 4.51 in the 40-yard dash would've been good for 6th among defensive ends at the Combine. His 7.22 in the 3-cone drill would've been good for 5th. Measuring in at nearly 6-foot-5 and 268 pounds, those are fairly elite numbers.
