One of the most athletic players in this NFL Draft class is off the board as inside linebacker Trenton Simpson is headed to the Baltimore Ravens after being selected with the 23rd pick in the 3rd round.

Simpson had the most impressive performance from a former Tiger at the NFL Combine, surprising no one. The Charlotte native put up 25 reps at 225 pounds on the bench, measured in at a strong 6-foot-2 235 pounds, but his best moment came in the 40.

Simpson wowed the crowd with a 4.43 40-yard dash, with a 1.55 10-yard split. His time trailed only Auburn’s Owen Pappoe’s 4.39. While at Clemson, Simpson totaled 165 tackles in 33 games, including 23.0 tackles for loss and 13.0 sacks.

It's a surprise that Trenton Simpson lasted as long as he did. Prior to the Draft, ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. had Simpson ranked as his top inside linebacker prospect, ahead of guys like Iowa's Jack Campbell who was selected by the Detroit Lions in the first round.
