Score Predictions: Clemson at N.C. State

How the Clemson on SI staff see the game at N.C. State playing out.

Christian Goeckel, Lead Editor: Two things always travel in football: great defense and a strong rushing attack. Clemson's defense will undoubtedly show up in a big way against N.C. State, but the rushing attack remains to be seen. It just has been a focal point for Clemson this year, more of an emergency button when the passing game isn't working. If Swinney/Mafah touch the ball 30+ times, Clemson should handle N.C. State. If the Tigers try to get cute, they'll be in for a long game. Clemson 20 - N.C. State 13

Ryan Akin: The Wolfpack have struggled offensively as of late. Only three points were managed against Duke and just ten against Louisville. With the way Clemson's season has gone, however, there is no one you can take lightly at this point. The defense will have to be better against the dual threat of MJ Morris than they were in the opener with Riley Leonard. They will be and this team has experienced leadership that pushes them to not just a bounce back but one of the Tigers' best games of the season.  Clemson 35 N.C. State 10

Cade Klubnik

Cade Klubnik will need to be big for Clemson on Saturday at N.C. State

Jonathan Hooker: The Textile Bowl has been nothing short of entertaining in the last decade especially. Expect Jermiah Trotter Jr. to lead this Clemson team in the hostile environment that Carter-Finley Stadium will offer. With the extra motivation of a rivalry coming into this week, expect the Tigers to get the deal done. Clemson 24 NC State 14
