Undefeated Clemson makes huge jump in AP Poll
In a week that included handing in-state rival South Carolina their first loss and knocking TCU down from the high of a miracle buzzer-beater in the previous game, the undefeated Clemson Tigers are finally starting to gain some national recognition.
After debuting at No. 24 in last week's AP Poll, Clemson has jumped up 11 spots, all the way to No. 13 in the country.
Becoming a top 15 team certainly isn't the ultimate goal for this group but it does ensure that every game the Tigers step on the floor from now on will have numerous eyes on it.
Clemson is now the second highest-ranked team in the ACC, only behind No. 9 North Carolina who sits at 7-2 after losing their most recent game to No. 5 UConn.
Other ACC members ranked this week are Duke at 21, Virginia at 22, and Miami at 24. Very few conference games have been played yet but the Tigers are already marking themselves as one game everyone in the ACC will begin to circle as long as their success continues.
With their new ranking, Clemson will travel to Memphis this Saturday in a battle of Tigers. Memphis is 7-2 and just took down the formerly 21st-ranked Texas A&M Aggies.
