Clemson, a school that typically holds scholarship offers pretty close the chest, has apparently zeroed in on a 2025 prospect they feel is worthy of the early offer. George MacIntyre, the No. 2 quarterback in the class of 2025 according to 247's Composite Rankings, announced the offer from the Tigers on Wednesday in a post on Twitter.

"I am blessed and honored to have received an offer from Clemson!" said MacIntyre in the post, tagging Clemson offensive coordinator Garrett Riley.

This news is noteworthy for a couple of reasons. First off, it signals that the Tigers are very confident about the fit MacIntyre and the program would have with each other. Dabo Swinney doesn't typically extend offers to players prior to beginning the junior year of high school. Secondly, it shows that Clemson is doing whatever it can to avoid missing out on landing a high-level quarterback like it appears they will in the 2024 class.

The 6-foot-5 MacIntyre already held offers from schools like Georgia, Alabama, Michigan, and Tennessee. He accounted for 25 total touchdowns against just four interceptions as a sophomore, his first true starting action. MacIntyre also is a standout basketball player, reporting offers from Arizona State and FIU.
