Just in time for Feast Week, the latest Associated Press Top 25 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Polls saw the Colorado Buffaloes make impressive moves in the rankings.

The Buffaloes men’s program jumped seven spots from No. 25 to No. 18 in the poll, the biggest rise among AP Top 25 teams. Colorado (3-0) is coming off a dominating 106-79 victory vs. Milwaukee on November 14 to open the Sunshine Slam. The 106 points were the most in a regulation game for the Buffaloes since scoring 116 against Savannah State on January 3, 2006. With the win, the Buffaloes improved to 92-8 in nonconference home games under Tad Boyle.

Now 3-0 for third time in the last five years, the Buffaloes take that unbeaten record into Monday night’s Beach Bracket Semifinal against the Richmond Spiders (2-1) in Daytona Beach, FL. This will be the third meeting between Colorado and Richmond and first since January 4, 2005.

The Buffaloes women’s basketball team (4-0) surged to No. 3 in the latest AP Top-25 Poll, behind only top-ranked South Carolina and No. 2 UCLA. It’s their best ranking since 1995 when Colorado finished the season ranked No. 2 in the country. JR Payne’s squad is coming off an 84-69 victory at SMU on Saturday.

With the win, the Buffaloes improved to 4-0 on the young season, with all four wins coming by double-digit margins. Next up for the Buffaloes are back-to-back-to-back games in the U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam.

The Lady Buffs open with Cincinnati on Thanksgiving Day, followed by Kentucky on Friday, and a tilt with No. 14 NC State to close out the event. All games tipoff at 11:00 AM MT and can be seen on ESPN3.
