Colorado Buffaloes men's basketball crack AP Top 25
It's a great time to be in Boulder. Not just because of the buzz with Deion Sanders and the football program. For the first time in two years, the Buffs found themselves in the AP top 25, sliding into the ranking at No. 25 on Monday.
Tad Boyle and the Buffs (3-0) notched a 95-63 victory over Grambling State on Friday without Cody Williams in the lineup. The former McDonald's All-American was out with a minor injury and will return on Tuesday night vs. Milwaukee.
Colorado hasn't broken into the top 15 in a decade, which is a feat they'll try to accomplish in the early going. The Buffs peaked in the final rankings two years ago at No. 22, but haven't made a poll until now. What's even better for the state of basketball in Boulder is that both the mens and womens teams are ranked for simultaneously since January of 2014. The Lady Buffs are No. 5 after knocking down top-ranked LSU in Vegas.
The Buffs are fourth in the Pac-12, averaging 85.0 points per game in non-conference play. They're one of the best 3-point shooting teams in the nation, avergaing 45.0 percent thus far. KJ Simpson and Tristian da Silva lead the Buffs with 17.0 points per game a piece.
