Colorado Buffaloes stay undefeated in men’s basketball

The Buffs will next travel to Florida to compete in the Sunshine Slam

The 25th-ranked Colorado Buffaloes advanced to 3-0 with a blowout win over the University of Milwaukee. It was a decisive victory. KJ Simpson led the Buffs with 23 points.

Bart Lundy, Head Coach of Milwaukee, said after the game, “I think Colorado is a really good team. They are as good a passing team as I’ve seen in a long, long time. They shared the ball. They have so many guys that can make shots and they understand who they are. That’s a really, really good basketball team!”

The Buffs raced out to a 53-33 lead at the half and coasted to a 106-79 victory.

“We obviously shot the ball well. Offensively, we were as good as we’ve been all year tonight,” said Tad Boyle, Head Coach of Colorado.

Boyle did express some concerns about the defensive effort tonight. He said, “We gave up five 3’s in a four or five minute stretch it felt like…the kid Howell, on the scouting report he is a shooter. And we let that shooter hit five 3’s. That can’t happen! We gotta get better….I just want these guys to know that down the road we’re gonna run into teams like this that have maybe a little bit more firepower than Milwaukee had tonight but can also shoot the three.”

The Buffaloes next play at the Sunshine Slam in Daytona Beach, FL. Colorado faces the Richmond Spiders next Monday night.
