Colorado drops two spots in latest AP Top 25 Women’s Basketball poll
Following Friday’s 87-81 loss to No. 7 USC, the Colorado Buffaloes fell two spots to No. 13 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 women’s college basketball poll. It’s Colorado’s lowest ranking since opening the season at No. 20.
The Buffaloes are one of six Pac-12 teams ranked in this week’s poll, the most of any conference. Despite losing to unranked Arizona last week, Stanford leads all Pac-12 squads at No. 4, followed by No. 7 USC, No. 8 UCLA, and No. 11 Oregon State. Utah remained at No. 18 after an impressive road win at No. 7 USC on Sunday.
South Carolina and Texas retained the top two spots, with Texas leapfrogging Stanford and Virginia Tech to take over the No. 3 ranking. Iowa, USC, UCLA, LSU and UCONN round out the top 10.
Colorado (20-6, 10-5 Pac-12) will look to turn things around Monday night when they take on No. 8 UCLA (21-5, 10-5 Pac-12) at Pauley Pavilion. The Bruins moved up four spots in the top 25 poll following a 30-point win versus No. 18 Utah last week.
The Buffaloes are 8-15 all-time against the Bruins, including a 76-68 setback in Boulder in front of a sellout crowd on January 19. The Buffaloes will close the regular season with a pair of home games this Thursday and Saturday against Washington and Washington State.
