Colorado vs. Oregon State: How to watch, game time, and TV schedule

Buffaloes look to extend their home winning streak to a record 12 games
Jason Jones/BuffsBeat

The Colorado Buffaloes (13-5, 4-3 Pac-12) look for their third straight win as they host the Oregon State Beavers on Saturday night at CU Event Center. Tad Boyle’s team is coming off a 86-70 win against the Oregon Ducks on Thursday night. It was Cody Williams leading the way for the Buffs, showing why he’s a projected lottery pick in this year’s NBA draft. The Former McDonald’s All-American dropped a career high 23 points on 10-13 shooting against the Ducks. KJ Simpson added 22 points, five rebounds and five assists in the win for the Buffs.

Oregon State (9-8, 1-5 Pac-12) comes into Boulder in desperate need of a win to swing some momentum their way. They took a 74-47 blowout by the Utah Utes on Thursday night. In the game, the Beavers shot an abysmal 29.1 percent from the floor and Dexter Akanno led the team with 12 points.

OSU is still looking for their first win away from Corvallis as they are 0-3 on the road for the year and things do not get any easier as they take on the Buffs who are a perfect 11-0 at the CUEC. The Beavers have lost four straight with their last win coming December 30th against USC. Colorado lost their last matchup in Corvallis by a score of 60-52.

Wayne Tinkle’s team is led by sophomore Jordan Pope, who is averaging 17.4 points a game. In the loss to Utah, it was the first time that he was held to single-digits in scoring, which hasn’t happened in nearly a year. Overall, Pope is sixth in the Pac-12 in scoring. The Beavers come in as the second-best free throw shooting team in the conference and will need to find a way to get to the line against a tough Buffs defense.

CU struggled shooting the ball last season against Oregon State, but this year they have shot over 50 percent in 10 of their 18 games, including the win against Oregon. Simpson, who was on the Wooden Award midseason Top 25, leads the Buffs with 19.4 points per game and dishes out 4.3 assists (4th, Pac-12). Williams continues to grow each and every game on the year. He’s averaging 15.0 points per and shooting lights out from the field at 59 percent. The Buffs as a team are one of the best shooting teams in the nation, averaging 50 percent from the field, which now puts them at eighth in the nation (1st, Pac-12).

Boyle likely reminded his team of how poorly they played against Oregon State last season, and even with the Beavers struggles this season, they cannot overlook their opponent. The Buffs have a chance to tie their longest ever win streak at home tonight at 12, if they can pull off the win. Oregon State will look to bounce back after suffering their worst loss of the season. Can they take their frustrations out on the Buffs?
