Colorado's Eddie Lampkin Jr. enters transfer portal
Eddie Lampkin Jr. will take his talents elsewhere for his final year. The Colorado big man who transferred from TCU said he'll be entering the portal once again via CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein. The 6-foot-11, 270-pound center became a fan favorite in Boulder this past season. Lampkin's energy and the way he used his frame helped lead the Buffs to their winningest record in program history. He played in all 37 contests this year, averaging 10.6 points and 7.0 rebounds in the Pac-12's final season.
'Big Eddie' was one of the best contributing centers for the Buffs in recent years. He stepped up in the NCAA Tournament, which puts him in a better position to have a run at the NBA Draft. Unfortunately, the lack of NIL might've pushed him toward heading to a bigger program.
Colorado's Tristan da Silva rocketing up NBA Draft boards after NCAA Tournament run
Colorado's roster might look a little different next year. Cody Williams is a projected lottery pick in the NBA Draft. KJ Simpson could come out early. Tristan da Silva and Luke O'Brien are out and J’Vonne Hadley announced he'll also be entering the transfer portal.
This means CU will be ushering in transfers, along with building up Assane Diop and Bangot Dak as options at the five spot. If this turns out to be a rebuild by Tad Boyle, he'll need at least another rotation of players. The Buffs will also have four-star in-state prospect Andrew Crawford as part of this year's recruiting class.
