No. 18 Colorado defeats Iona 85-68
Tristan da Silva led the Buffs in points with 17 overall while surpassing the 1,000 career point milestone.
“I don’t even know what to say. I didn’t know where I was at to be honest before the game…It’s crazy to think about. To join that club but I’m just grateful for my teammates sharing the rock tonight and letting me play aggressively,” said da Silva.
Buffs improved to 5-1 with this win. It was a group effort on both ends of the court. Cody Williams and J’Vonne Hadley scored 13 points each. Julian Hammond III 11 points off the bench.
“Workman like effort tonight against an Iona team that has a bunch of tough kids. Their coach is tough. Obviously, he was at Fairleigh Dickinson last year when they beat Purdue in the NCAA tournament so, he knows what he’s doing. They’ve got some some good individual players…our depth wore them down a little bit. Offensively, you shoot 61 percent from the field you feel pretty good about things. It was a great night from that standpoint.”
Colorado next plays their undefeated rival Colorado State on Wednesday night.
