Deion Sanders didn't come to Boulder to keep the football program in the basement. The Colorado Buffaloes coach also wasn't put in a position to let grass grow under his feet. If you think he's going to fold under pressure, you better think twice.

A Hall-of-Famer who has won at every stop in his life, both professional and personal, isn't going to accept anything less from the people around him. When he was asked about culture during CU Media Day, his response was misunderstood by anyone who hadn't taken their mindset to the next level.

“I don’t care about culture," Sanders said. "I don’t even care if they like each other, I want to win.”

“I have been on some teams where the quarterback didn’t like the receiver, but they darn sure made harmony when the ball was snapped. And we’re not like that, trust me. These kids are very fond of one another.”

It's all about business. Sanders is preparing his players for the game of life. It's rare to have a coach with the talent level of Prime come into a situation of turning over a one-win team. He's doing things his way and not following anyone else's example. That's what you get when you're ready to shake things up. It's not conventional by the standards of others, but the critics will never be hired to coach.

Sanders approaches his FBS debut with Colorado against TCU on Sept. 2. The most talked about opener for the Buffaloes in nearly 30 years.
