Deion Sanders heated over Jay Norvell's comments: "It was just going to be a good game" now it's "personal" (Video)

Coach Prime goes into Rocky Mountain Showdown fired up

Deion Sanders doesn't have time in his day to worry about nonsense, especially when it comes about unnecessarily.

After Coach Prime was gracious and recognized Jay Norvell in his weekly press conference, the Colorado State football coach had to create controversy to make his program sound relevant. You can say it's good for the in-state rivalry, but Norvell made it personal against Sanders.

Norvell took a shot at Sanders on Wednesday night, criticizing his attire, how he talks to the media and even his upbringing. This isn't going to end well to say the least.

“I sat down with ESPN today,” Norvell said. “I don’t care if they hear it in Boulder. I told them, I took my hat off and I took my glasses off. I said when I talk to grown-ups, I take my hat off and my glasses off. That’s what my mother taught me. (Colorado’s) not going to like us no matter what we say or do.”

Sanders initially responded on his weekly radio show appearance by saying, "I'm a grown man" and "not going to change who I am" for anyone. He went even further at practice to amp up the players.

“I’m minding my own business, watching some film, I’m trying to get ready. I’m trying to get out there and be the best coach I can be, and then I look up and I read some bull junk that they said about us," Sanders said. "It was just gonna be a good game, but they done messed around and made it personal.”

Norvell might be in way over his head with Sanders and the Buffs looking to make a statement. The Rams make the trip south to Boulder for the first time in four years. A Rocky Mountain Showdown under the lights at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN.
