Michael Irvin visits Deion Sanders at Colorado
The Colorado Buffaloes had another former Hall-of-Famer in the building on Wednesday. "The Playmaker" Michael Irvin made a special appearance to visit Deion Sanders.
While the two former Dallas Cowboys stars have remained close throughout the years, it was a change of pace to see Coach Prime showing off all the progress in Boulder. Both Irvin and Sanders have gone down similar career paths with stops in Canton and as commentators for the NFL Network. As teammates, they were part of the Cowboys' glory days with back-to-back Super Bowl wins (XXIX, XXX).
Sanders revealed in his autobiography 'Power, Money & Sex: How Success Almost Ruined My Life' that he returned to Dallas for a repeat run because of Irvin's influence.
At the time, the Oakland Raiders offered him more money than any other team in history, but it was the brotherhood between Prime and The Playmaker that kept them together. Sanders went on to end his NFL career with both Washington and Baltimore after leaving Dallas following Irvin's final year in 1999.
Coach Prime and the Buffaloes are coming toward the final week of Fall Camp. A season opener with 17th-ranked TCU near the Cowboys' old stomping grounds in Fort Worth awaits Sanders for his FBS debut.
