Michael Vick visits Deion Sanders at Colorado

Coach Prime and Ron Mexico sit down for a heartfelt conversation
In this story:

Deion Sanders had a reunion for the ages in Boulder on Tuesday. Former NFL QB Michael Vick linked up with the Colorado Buffaloes head coach to talk about their lives and the game of football.

Before the cameras started rolling, Vick joked with another coach stating he could play for the Jets right now, if he chose too. Let’s not forget, Vick had a small stint with the Jets towards the tail-end of his career. So, it’s not impossible to believe he could be in New York.

When Vick and Prime met in his office to talk, they embraced one another and instantly began to talk about football and the impact it had on their lives. The moment was captured by Bucky from Well Off Media. Sanders talked about one of his idols growing up, Hall of Fame QB Doug Williams.

“I was down the street from Doug, he was in Tampa, I was a [kid] in Ft Myers.” Sanders proclaimed. “Doug was everything to us, man.” He later revealed he played a little QB back in his younger days before transitioning to the secondary, stating that he knew they wouldn’t let him play in college.

Sanders gave praise to Vick as well because of his impact on the black community and his ability to stay true to who he was. After discussing the players of the past, they started to talk about their respective eras with the Atlanta Falcons.

Sanders recalled when he became a free agent awaiting a contract offer. He went on to say that it was “blessing in disguise” as the Smith family looked beyond today and felt Sanders deserved to go out as a winner. Vick talked about the love of the fanbase and how electrifying it was to play in “The Dome.”

Two generational talents rekindled their flame for the game as they sat out on the balcony of Sanders' office and looked at the view. As the sun sets on their time in the NFL, a new sun has risen with a new generation who idolized two of the greatest players to grace the gridiron.
