Michigan's Jim Harbaugh recognizes Deion Sanders saying the "Coach of the Year is chilling in Prime’s crib"

Coach Prime shocks the world and is ready for more

Jim Harbaugh has a lot more free time these days. The Michigan football coach is in the midst of a three-game suspension and decided to tune in to other contests around the nation this past weekend.

Like most people outside of Boulder, the outspoken coach was blown away by Deion Sanders going into Fort Worth and scoring the 45-42 upset victory over 17th-ranked TCU. It was a vindication moment for Coach Prime near his old stomping grounds.

Harbaugh went on the record with the "Stoney and Jansen Show" on 97.1 The Ticket in Detroit and praised Sanders for a complete game. He also applauded Travis Hunter for his breakthrough two-way outing.

“Travis Hunter — the 144 plays. I mean, it was tough to take my eyes off that game," Harbaugh admitted.

Harbaugh heard Sanders' comments going into halftime where he said if Hunter caught the two drops, he would have the Heisman back at the crib. He did him one better by saying Prime deserves some recognition as well.

"I loved Prime's halftime interview, too, 'If we had hit him on two more passes, (the Heisman) would be chilling in his crib,'" Harbaugh. "That's awesome — 144 plays — and that was in Fort Worth, too."

Harbaugh has taken the unconventional route on many occasions and has received scrutiny just like Sanders has in his short time in Boulder. The two are a lot alike from a coaching perspective and equally great stewards for college football. Shedeur Sanders actually took a recruiting visit to Ann Arbor  before following his father to Jackson State.

Sanders and the Buffs face Nebraska in week two. A renewal of the old Big Eight rivalry comes to Boulder on Saturday, Sept. 9 at noon ET.
