Colorado’s Taijh Alston had a great week putting in work at the Tropical Bowl in Florida.

The former Buffaloes defensive end displayed an impressive amount of strength, speed, and found his way to the quarterback often. While he produced some outstanding film room material during the practice sessions, Alston and his Buffs teammate, Jordan Domineck, rose to the occasion in the biggest moments of the college All-Star competition.

The game ended in a 17-17 tie, but that really doesn’t tell the whole story. A windy day in Daytona Beach had the kickers missing several field goals. It was a game largely controlled by strong defensive performances and Alston certainly stood out amongst the many NFL hopefuls.

After the game he said, “It was fun playing here. I feel like I had a great three days…I finished off with a sack, just an amazing experience.”

Alston was a disruptive force in the backfield throughout the entire game. He tallied a quarterback sack, along with numerous pressures and tackles at the line of scrimmage. He created mismatches and was definitely a problem for anybody who lined up opposite him.

No different from his collegiate career. Alston had 79 total tackles (20 for loss), with 10.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, five quarterback hurries, and two pass breakups in 39 career games between West Virginia and Colorado.

Alston will participate in Colorado’s Pro Day in mid-March. The NFL Draft begins on April 25th in Detroit.
